The Gemlight PTI237W is the OEM of one version of the DTC2280. The card is notable in that it supports two floppy drives connected to the parallel port via a passive cable adapter.

External floppy support

A passive cable can be built to access one or two floppy drives externally via the parallel port. This mode changes the pin assignments on the DB-25 connector to those of a proprietary Winbond designation - it is not an IEEE1284 standard parallel port when operating in this mode.

The pin assignments for the conversion cable are shown in the image gallery below, taken from the W83877F datasheet.

Although the datasheet mentions support for up to four floppy drives, it appears that only two can be used. In EXTFDD mode (not supported by this card) the drive 0 is on the external connector and drive 1 is on the DB-25 port while in EXT2FDD mode (supported by this card) both drives 0 and 1 are on the DB-25 port and the internal floppy connector appears to be unused.
