This template is used to populate the Device Infobox with information about an IDE controller card. See AB-862G Super I∕O Card for example use. As this template sits inside an infobox, it can be combined with other templates in the case of multi-function devices.
Valid parameters and examples specific to this infobox are:
Parameter | Meaning |
---|---|
IDE buses = Value | Number of IDE buses that are available on the device. Each bus typically supports the connection of up to two drives.
|
Primary = Value | Boolean value indicating whether an IDE interface can be set as the first, or primary, IDE bus in the system. Typically this is at I/O address 0x1F0 and uses IRQ 14. |
Secondary = Value | Boolean value indicating whether an IDE interface can be set as the second, or secondary, IDE bus in the system. Typically this is at I/O address 0x170 and uses IRQ 15. |
Tertiary = Value | Boolean value indicating whether an IDE interface can be set as the third, or tertiary, IDE bus in the system. Often this is at I/O address 0x1E8 and uses IRQ 11 or 12. |
Quaternary = Value | Boolean value indicating whether an IDE interface can be set as the fourth, or quaternary, IDE bus in the system. Oten this is at I/O address 0x168 and uses IRQ 10 or 11. |
ROM type = Value | Text value for the type of ROM/EEPROM/Flash chip. One of:
Add others to this list as needed - try to be as generic as possible, avoiding part names and using interface names instead. |
Default values are shown if the parameter is omitted, so do not use any parameters unless the value is known (most of the defaults say "unknown").
